Back to the recording studio & Iota!

So for the last month, we’ve been busy writing and working in the studio on three new songs with Ted Comerford and Rich Stine, (our producer and engineer, respectively).  They’re coming close to completion, and we’re really liking what we’re hearing so far.  If you’ve been to a show recently, you’ve heard two of them before, and you may hear all three at Iota in Arlington on Saturday, October 24, where we’ll be playing with Colourslide!  Mark your calendars – it’s going to be a fun night of good music.

Tickets for Rams Head Live! & more

We hope to see you all at our show at McGinty's tonight, in Silver Spring.  If you can't make it though, we just added a show on July 3rd at Ram's Head Live! in Baltimore, opening for our friends The Lloyd Dobler Effect.  You can buy tickets online at their website.

If you are a fan of playing Guitar Hero or Rock Band, check out JamLegend - it's a free music game online (and you can play tunes on your keyboard or a guitar controller if you have one).  "Take Me Home" is now available to play - and the song has been played almost 10,000 times already!  Let us know on Facebook, Myspace, or Twitter what your high score is!

Mixing at Quad Studios

We just finished mixing four of our new songs at Quad Studios in NYC (right in Times Square) with Michael Brauer, whose work we really admire.  He's mixed records for some of our favorite artists, including Coldplay, Doves, Travis, and Athlete.

Brauer is fresh off yet another Grammy win, this time for his efforts on Viva La Vida.  He also mixed The Fray's latest album, which is #1 on the Billboard charts.

Needless to say, it was an amazing experience and we can't wait for you to hear the new tunes - we think they're our best to date.

Wrapping up 2008

We want to say thanks to all of you for such an incredible year, and we really appreciate your support!  We got to open for Coldplay at the Verizon Center!  We had our music featured on MTV's The Hills, ESPN's Baseball Tonight and NCAA Women's Final Four Coverage, added to XM Radio's Flight 26 and XMU channels and spun on commercial and college stations nationwide.

A little more recently, a couple of tunes from Wake From Yourself (namely "Memento" and "Don't Follow Me") were used in this fun promotional video for Victoria's Secret, so go watch it over at YouTube!

We're working on setting up some dates in 2009, so stay tuned to the tour page.  Drop by and say hi at our Facebook or Myspace!  Happy holidays, and see you in 2009...

See you at IOTA on Saturday!

We hope you are all having a Happy Thanksgiving!  Don't forget to come see us and our friends Against Grace and Zelos this Saturday, November 29th, at IOTA in Arlington, VA.  The Washington Post selected the show as one of their weekend picks, and here's what they had to say: "With an opening spot for Coldplay and a soundtrack highlight on ESPN, the local up-and-comers have proven they fit on a big stage --  all the more reason to catch them on a more intimate stage now."

Speaking of the Washington Post, they also will publish a review of Wake From Yourself in tomorrow's paper.  It's also posted online in their electronic edition
The full review will be on page 7 of the Weekend section, so be sure to keep an eye out!

See you Saturday!

Juniper Lane added to GroundWaves.
fm

The fine folks over at GroundWaves.fm have added us to their rotation, and had some lovely words for us as well, calling Juniper Lane "a piano-driven, guitar-heavy rock band that combines the best elements of anthemic arena rock and subculture enigma."  They also noted that "It's rare that we get a record at GroundWaves where we want to put every track in the broadcast, but Juniper Lane's Wake From Yourself is one of them."  Thanks guys!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Again, we wanted to thank all of our family, friends, and fans for supporting us during this journey to the Verizon Center.  Opening for Coldplay was absolutely amazing, and words can't really describe the feeling of being on stage at the Verizon Center.  Eddie still persevered, and you can read his blog entry over at our Myspace!
